FAQ

What ingredients are used in August Nash & Co. candles?

We believe in using only the most natural ingredients as possible. Our candles contain a custom blend of 100% American grown coconut wax, essential oils, premium grade fragrance oils and 100% braided cotton wicks for a clean, environmental friendly burn.

I can't decide on a scent. Do you offer scent samples?

We offer a 4oz tin option for those who want to smell the scents we offer before committing to a larger sized container. The tins may also be use as a travel candle, to take on the go!

What are some good candle burning tips to make my candle last longer?

The most crucial step to getting your candle off to a good start is to trim that wick. If the wick is not trimmed the very first time you light your candle it will smoke and burn until it melts the wax underneath it. Also, do not forget to continue to trim the wick - it's natural for wicks to become black and sooty, so it is vital to continue to trim it before each lighting if you don't want a smokey candle experience or black candle containers!

Another common mistake is keeping your first burn time too short. We recommend burning your candle for at least 2-3 hours the very first time. This allows the wax to melt evenly all the way to the edge of the container (this will create a perfect wax pool). If the wax doesn’t reach the edge of the container, you will accumulate hard wax around the sides of the container which create a “tunneling” effect.

While enjoying your candle, please keep within sight and only burn on a heat resistant surface. Do not leave your candles unattended or within reach of children or pets. Please see the candle care link for more detailed information!

Why coconut wax?

Coconut wax is extremely clean burning. It burns up to 90% cleaner than a soy wax candle of the same size and fragrance. Coconut wax holds a higher volume of fragrance than other natural waxes and doesn’t interfere with the true notes of a fragrance.
